Concrete AC Unit Pads

Give your air conditioner a stable, level foundation. Our concrete AC pads reduce vibration, improve efficiency, and extend equipment life.

Benefits of Concrete AC Pads

A proper concrete foundation is essential for HVAC equipment longevity and performance.

Perfectly Level

AC units require level installation for proper refrigerant flow and compressor operation. Unlevel units work harder and fail sooner.

Vibration Reduction

Concrete's mass absorbs compressor vibration, reducing noise and preventing damage to refrigerant lines and electrical connections.

Equipment Protection

Raises the unit above grade to prevent snow burial, flooding, and lawn mower damage. Keeps coils cleaner and accessible for service.

Proper Drainage

Slight crown or slope ensures condensation and rainwater drain away from the unit and your foundation.

25+ Year Lifespan

Unlike plastic pads that crack and degrade, concrete lasts decades. It will outlive multiple AC units.

Warranty Compliance

Many HVAC manufacturers require a "permanent foundation." Concrete pads meet this requirement; plastic pads often don't.

AC Pad Questions

What size pad do I need for my AC unit?

Most residential AC units require a 3x3 foot or 4x3 foot pad. The pad should extend 2-3 inches beyond the unit on all sides. We'll verify your unit dimensions and recommend the optimal size.

Why is concrete better than a plastic AC pad?

Concrete pads are more stable, don't crack in cold weather, provide better vibration dampening, won't shift or sink, and last 25+ years. Plastic pads often crack, become brittle, and may void HVAC warranties requiring a "permanent foundation."

How much does a concrete AC pad cost?

Concrete AC pads typically cost $400-800 for standard residential units. Price includes excavation, gravel base, forming, concrete, and finishing. Larger pads for commercial units or multiple units cost more. Contact us for a precise quote.

Can you pour a pad next to my existing patio?

Yes, we can pour AC pads adjacent to existing concrete. We use proper isolation joints to prevent cracking and ensure the new pad is level and stable independently of the existing surface.
